In Lonato del Garda, Filippo Latorre opened one of the first coffee roasters in the province of Brescia: The Torrefazione Caffè Haway began to produce its own blend of coffee. It became well-known through building up the loyalty of its first customers.
Lino Latorre began working with his father in the family business, and immediately got involved in research and development. It was during these years that he learned the ancient art of cold infusion from an old monk with whom he established a sincere friendship. Thanks to this invaluable knowledge, in the years to come, Lino was able to create not only the well-known blends of undisputed quality but also the first ever coffee liqueur.
An important decade for the company. The company thrives and Lino and Filippo moved the coffee roaster to a larger plant in Salò. During the same period, Lino Latorre took over total management of the company... This is the beginning of important changes.
The company promotes a fair and respectful coffee supply starting from the source, the people and families who grow and harvest the coffee. Lino Latorre became actively involved in setting up a producers' cooperative in Mexico, and at the same time he also built a business relationship with them.
It was time to have larger production premises to be able to store and produce increasing quantities of coffee. The company headquarters were moved to Manerba del Garda, where besides a large warehouse and an organised production area, a space dedicated to the retail sale and tasting of Latorre artisan products was set up.
A remarkable year, marked by important milestones and unforgettable emotions. Torrefazione Latorre celebrates its 70th anniversary of activity. For the occasion, the new "Caffè 70°" blend was created and released, the third one released after the "Caffè Latorre N.1" and "Caffè Haway” blends.
